i own right now the a7r2, a6300 and a6500, with both the sigma mc11 and the metabones IV (both latest firmware) and the canon 100-400 II and 300mm 2.8 IS , both lenses work very good even in AF-C with the MC11 , i always use center focusing...
nampramos , are you sure you had selected Phase Detect AF?
i didnt experience hangups or similar things (at least not very common or that i can recall) in fact this last mont i switched from metabones to mc11 for a/b comparision and i found it very equal , and the sigma

I can't speak for nampramos, 400mm on the 200-400 was OK, but somewhat erratic. Beyond 400mm it was too unreliable for my purposes. I only use PDAF. The Sigma 150-600mm was a bit better, but again, it was too unreliable for me. Further testing is still in order and I'll update if performance (or my technique) improves. I'm very happy with the MC-11 at shorter focal lengths. I'm new to Sony, although I had a RX100a few years ago, but I'm seriously considering the A9 to augment my wildlife/BIF photography.

Does anyone own a Canon 28-300 and an adapter that works on the A7RII? My original MB1 was an expensive POS that only worked with my Canon 24mm and not very well at that so I'm gun shy on adapters.

Chances are it will. Canon released this lens in 2004, which is about the same timeframe as my oldest L lenses, the 24-105mm F4L and 70-200mm F4L. Both of these work nicely on the 7RM2. In my testing it's the longer and slower lenses that have problems.
