Beautiful shots of a beautiful duck Mike, very well done. To my eye they would look even better if the duck were lower in the frame. They're so nice I hesitate to say it though.

Thank you, will look at that, it is something that I thought about when processing them.

Well done, Mike, it looks like you've made a great use of golden hour light.
The angle finder obviously allows you to shoot them from a very low perspective, but does it hamper your responsiveness to sudden transients in behaviour, takeoffs etc ?

That may be the case, but they are normally not doing that much flying around here. They are looking at the wood duck boxes and mostly just paddling around.

Great shots Mike. Love the low angle and backgrounds as per your usual high standards.
On the topic of reflections, like Randy I don't save them (basically crop away most of it) unless the water is perfectly calm. I don't like messy ones and I also like the bird lower in the frame. But those things are all subjective. That said I do sort of like the reflections in #5 for the rainbow quality of the streaking.

Beautiful images, Mike! Personally, I think the reflections in images 5, 8, and 9 are pretty nice. Reflection patterns in (non calm) water can be interesting sometimes. I like the light, background, colors, and low angle of your images. Great work, as always, on these!

Spectacular imagery of Wood Ducks! The low perspective, perfect light, apparently shooting through vegetation too, reflections. Doesn't get any better than this. I like using a right angle finder too. Great work

You do woodies very well Mike, and these are no exception. I agree with Robert that some might be better with more off the bottom. I think the ones with the less defined reflections could use a little cropping ~ Ron

mike you are the master of wood ducks and clearly the low angle is making them even better
TSF. It may be interesting to see 2 images side by side with and without the reflection, if is not too much to ask?

Thank you all for your feedback. After reviewing, I do agree that some need to be lower in the frame.
I'm not sure how I feel about the reflections, I personally like them, although some can be messy, so I can see yur point there.
Here is one that I lowered in the frame and eliminated about half the reflection.

These are so beautiful Mike. I'm going to go against the crowd, I love the reflections. Your water color and the backgrounds give these such a dreamy painterly feel. So nicely done.
