I was unhappy with the fact my lens was back focusing and the adjustment in camera was -18 so I called Sigma and they sent me to a shop in Manhattan where they calibrated my lens for free.
I received the lens a few minutes ago and I it is just spot on...!!! I am amazed how sharp this lens is.
Here is one shot of my coworker in the middle of 34th St in Manhattan.
I agree bokeh is awesome but most clients dont give dam about the things we bitch about. CA,bokeh, color rendering, artifacts. Some are totally oblivious! lol Most clients care about how they looks & when can I pick them up. Period!!!
I assume Sigma needed your lens and body to calibrate the lens correctly?
What would one do if they don't have a Sigma repair shop locally? I just returned my first copy of this lens because the AF fine tune needed was out of range. I am eager to buy it again but afraid of getting a second bad copy.

I understand your frustration and I was planning to do the same but I glad I didn't , my copy is very sharp now.

I don't think you will see another bad copy. I was told that 1 out of
200 May have issues, the odds are good. Mine is at +3 I think...incredible lens. Hopefully you'll get another soon.
OK today I had the chance to shoot both the Nikon 105mm and the Sigma 135mm from the same spot so we can compare the bokeh. Notice the size of the subject will increase with the 135mm because the focal length.
Pictures were processed with PS all the same time and synchronized adjusting only WB, no sharpening.
In my initial post I shoot the pictures moving the camera to fill the frame with the subject because of the different win focal lenght but a few people were very interested to see the results taking the pictures from the same distance.

Hi Marcello, Thank you very much for the new samples. I've been waiting to see these.
I'm on my phone and can only eyeball it but since you have the original files, can you do me one more favour and crop the 105/1.4 to the same framing as the 135/1.8 shot in the series where they are shot from the same distance.
Then repost the cropped 105/1.4 image at the same size as the uncropped 135/1.8 image.
I have a feeling they are going to look very similar.
A 7 foot Westcott umbrella with diffuser (Silver inside) was used here called cross light and a fill card was on the right, just a silver reflector. The sigma lens is amazing....so sharp and clear!!! This is Hope, charcoal gray background and I used the Phottix Indra 500 strobes.
The umbrella was perpendicular to the subject but moved forward towards me to where the right (Her right) was even with the edge of the umbrella, in other words, the center of the umbrella was not even with her. This helps with the wrap around light. There were just practice shots, I need to work on my posing some and hair & details.
The second shot was with the Westcott beauty dish by Joel Grimes.
