What a wonderful shot. Composing with the tree as the center of interest and the giraffe moving into the scene is excellent. As you titled it, this is a beautiful example of an African icon. Perfect for a large print.
While Africa does not hold a major place in my interest as a landscape photographer, this a a very well composed shot and I truly find it enjoyable to look at. Be proud of your work and print it large.
