p.1 #1 · Any way to copy settings from one Photo Memory Bank to another on D500
As per the title...
I was trying to setup the Photo Memory Banks to be able to quickly switch from one set of exposure parameters to another. I have the Record/Scroll wheel set to switch them which is fairly quick. What I'm trying to do is have an exposure set on Bank A for flight shots (higher ISO and SS) and one on Bank B for perched shots (lower ISO, lower SS, stopped down if possible). I may use Bank C and D for flight and perched in a different light (sunny instead of shade for example). I do this on my Canon cameras with the C modes.
What I can't figure out is if I can just copy my main settings from Bank A to the other banks and then tweek the exposures. Right now it seems I have to go into each new Bank and change every setting to how I like it. This takes time and is annoying. Basically I want all the settings the same except for the three exposure parameters and maybe the AF settings.
I also found out I need to be using extended photo memory banks to be able to change aperture and SS. And as far as I can tell, I can't have different AF modes programmed on different buttons in each Bank. I would have liked that also but not a big issue.

This was confusing to me also. I made a word doc from a post or posts that I read and have posted it here for you

I will make sure I follow those steps. But I gather from that list that as I expected there is no easy way to transfer all the custom settings from Bank A and copy them to Bank B and then change just a couple things in Bank B. I have to go through all the menus each time I set up a bank. I will find some spare time and get it done but man Nikon couldn't you make this simpler? Canon's way is a million times simpler and takes mere seconds to set all the C modes because you can be in C1 and then go and setup C2 and it copies all the current settings. Then you can change the few things you want to in C2.

So I went and set up A and B for now. I hadn't realized that there was a difference between Photo Memory Banks and Custom Control Memory banks. Now why can't they be linked together?? I want to use the Choose Photo Shooting Memory Bank control to switch between banks but I want it to change the Custom Control Bank also...as far as I can tell it doesn't The only way to change the Custom Control one is in the menu unless I'm missing something. I have it on MyMenu to get to it faster but still I don't see why there can't be an option to link those two banks to change when I use the Choose Photo Bank.
