Me - I had never any intention of buying a Medium Format camera until I had a careful look at some of the stunning images it produces and noticed its price in line with Nikon D3, Leica M9, Sony A9 when first released and the stellar Fujinon GF lenses on sale at an attractive discount bringing their price in line with FF lenses. Sure, I don’t consider the GFX a general purpose camera, including for action shots, but it nicely complements my Olympus MFT and Sony FF systems. What’s not to like, with the 100S on the horizon? :-)
Port of Seattle sunset from the Columbia Center's Sky View Observatory. Decent sunsets are rare this time of year so its worth driving into downtown Seattle at rush hour in holiday traffic...oy
Seth, nice to see this without the compression of FB. This lens is on my list but decided to first get the Mitakon 65mm first. Hopefully arrive early Jan.

yes, FB kind of destroys images, both the CV and Mitakon are great!

Full Frame users, photographers that used to shoot medium format film, even large format film users will finally consider going digital with this body.
With the low pricing of the 50r, it look like they are trying to undercut Leica's price point. The images rival the SL at several thousand dollars less (lens and body). For slightly more than a top end Sony or Nikon body and lenses costing less than Sony and Nikon, they are clearly courting FF buyers that are looking for their next mega pixel upgrade. The MF sensor in the GFX proves you get better images with larger pixels and Fuji made the price low enough to attract FF owners.
As other pointed out, this is not a sports camera system, but most photographers are not sports photographers. This is a great landscape, portrait, car show, fashion, beach, travel, you name it camera system; just not sports.
It is smaller than many FF dSLR bodies, weighs less than the Leica SL or M systems (which are used for all the above mentioned categories of photography) and priced right. The aggressive pricing and aggressive marketing using Elia Locardi show that Fuji is putting serious effort in making this the de facto standard for digital.
I think this is the first GFX50S image I've posted here...finally I'm starting to do something besides test shots! This is also the first time using the Contax 645 120/4 Apo-Makro that arrived a few days ago; at the Potawatomi Conservatory in South Bend, Indiana.
Another from yesterday's trip to Potawatomi Greenhouse in South Bend, Indiana. Anyone know what the type of flower is? GFX50S with Contax 645 120/4 Apo-Makro-Planar.
