I just returned from a quick trip to Death Valley and the Eastern Sierra timed with the weather forecast. As I typically do, I had preplanned each sunrise/sunset shoot - some right down to the exact comp, hoping for the light to cooperate. I stumbled upon this scene after finishing my planned sunrise shoot. It was a good reminder to keep my mind open and plans flexible.
Thanks. Appreciate the comment!

Good one Dave. Is the mountain in the background mt. Tom?
Thanks, Gregg. Sort of lost my orientation with the cloud cover but not Mt Tom. I'm processing the bulk of my images from last week and will post a set including an image of Mt Tom probably next week.

Very nice composition and well photographed--a testament to your comment on keeping an open mind and not being blinded by pre-visualization.
