It chewed through the ignition wire for one of the cylinders on my 4Runner. Turns out that is a pretty important wire. :-) I had the priviledge of being flat bedded 60 miles to Pahrump.

Great shots - my favorite is #3. Was the bluish cast originally present in the scene or is this more coming from the used Velvia 50 film/development?
It was a combination of those factors. This was taken in a canyon a bit before sunrise so the only light source was the sky. Had it been shot on a digital camera with daylight white balance, it would have been a bit cold. Velvia also seems to add to those cool tones a bit, so that was an additional factor. I would say that the original film had a bit more blue to it, but I backed it off a bit in post.

The color palette and layers in #1 are beautiful. Where do you get your 8 x 10 Velvia developed?
I have a local lab that does E6, C41, and B&W developing for 35mm through 8x10. I use North Coast Photographic in Carlsbad California. It is about a 45 minute drive from my house.
Ben, Lovely set of images. Every time I am out looking at tree roots, I am in search of a compelling image. Your third image accomplishes just that: love the composition and tones.
