Made a quick trip to Death Valley a few days ago. Was pleased to find that Badwater was still flooded in spots - never seen that before. Was also pleased to find a few clouds in the sky. The combination made for a wonderful way to spend a Saturday evening - sloshing around in salty water.

Posting a few from that evening - tried a few things - including a few 2 minute exposures as the sun began to set - and the colors began to change. Hope you enjoy - thanks for looking.

Great shots Todd, I love the long exposure and how it helps accentuate the colors. Tough to choose a fave, but I'm leaning towards 1 and 4.

These are great, Todd! Badwater is an amazing place, and you captured it wonderfully. I really like the long exposure skies over this landscape.

NICE! It's great to see something a bit different from such an oft-shot location. The first two are my faves because of the excellent cloud streaks. Out of those, I'd say #1 takes the cake.

I love all of them. Difficult to choose one, but if I have to.. then I would go with Gregg's, The last one!
Exciting feeling from the first two images.. and then suddenly I find the peace and beauty in the last image.

Thanks Greg! Would love to tag along (but the kid is back in town for a week) - I think this place is only going to get better as it dries out.

How long ago was this exactly? Could you see if it was still deep enough anywhere to give an uninterrupted surface?
