The images translate an awesome light and beautiful forest. Sans is the feeling of over the top digital manipulation or need to make the photos work. Thank you for that! And thanks for the pictures.

Hi Bob, I took dozens and dozens of compositions. The only way to find the ones that work are to shoot as many as you can, and really try different angles, and be deliberate. Sometimes I'm laying on the ground, other times I'm wedged in between tree's in tight spaces. many times, the best vantage points are not from a comfortable position . The spacing of the tree's in the forest worked well with a long lens. Some forests are so dense and chaotic, a long lens wouldn't work the same way. Once you get back on your computer and reviewing images, play around with the crop tool. Experiment with different framing on the scene. It's the only way I have found to "find" and present the strongest composition / story of that particular image.

Incredible set, they have a matte painting / fine art look to them. The first image has an incredible amount of depth and stunning contrast. All with the 70-300 no less!

It's actually a wonderful lens, and quite a great value. For hiking, the weight, when compared to the 70-20 F/2.8 is easier to haul around, and, you get 300mm reach.

Where was this forest? We may be going back this summer and I would like to find this location. Trees are pretty hard to find in the highlands. These are beautiful and well presented.
