Has anyone used both the Metabones IV and the MC-11 with Canon lenses on an A7rii or a6500 or a6300? How do they compare in speed and accuracy of autofocus and on any other criteria that occur to you?
I have been generally satisfied with the performance of the MB IV, but I wonder how good the MC-11 is with Canon lenses.
The longer the lens, the tougher it is for an an adapter to perform well, so if you do have experience with both, please specify which lenses you have tried.
I have used Canon 16-35f4L IS, Canon 135 f2L, Sigma 85 f1.4 EX (old version) with both MBIV and MC-11, here my conclusion:
- Both adapters have about the same AF performance with Canon lenses.
- If your lens has built-in IS, the MBIV will work better.

Thanks for the insight.
Getting the better image stabilization is a big deal. I tend to value that feature highly.
Another area of consideration would be a tripod mounting point as I don't believe the MC-11 has any options and I would be weary of hanging a heavy lens from my A7r mount on the MC-11. The MB IV has a tripod foot and RRS offers a pretty cool looking L-Bracket for the adapter. I shoot exclusively from a tripod so that's something normally important to me (though I've now switched away from all of my Canon lenses and sold my MB adapter).
