Well, I'd been working on the premise that "It's all about the light". These prove that's only partially true. Light and tones in these are fantastic and so complimentary to the subjects. However, your presence among the penguins and your eye in framing (pre- and post?) really makes these standout images.
I appreciate you including all the logistics info though I doubt I'll ever make it there. I can't help but wonder if by camping, it enhanced your 'feel' for the timing, various scenes and some of the penguin behavior that you might not have been as much in-tune with otherwise.
In any event, these are very intimate and special images. Thanks for posting.

Thanks so much for your extremely nice comments, Kim! Your observations are spot on, and you're very keen to pick up on such things! I definitely think camping added to the experience because it forced me to be out all day long and keep exploring. There was no nice warm cabin, hot coffee, and soft bed to retreat to . So, in a way, that did help to really get to know the place and to figure out where and when the best shots could be found. I also like to think that the penguins got to know me and came to accept me .

Outstanding set! While the wide angle "landscape" shots were fantastic, the emotional shots with the parents and the chicks were the best! How lucky to be able to make such a wonderful trip to a faraway land!
Thank you very much, and yes, certainly very fortunate to be able to visit the Falklands!

Thank you, Mr. Tan! Who can we talk to at Olympus about sponsoring us for a trip there next year ? Maybe we can help them launch the M. Zuiko 100-400 .

What an amazing adventure you had Mitesh. Thanks for posting the videos, they really give a sense of the habitat and conditions of the Falkland Islands, and the lack of fear in the wildlife.
I've always enjoyed your vision and composition in your images, and this series is extraordinary... I truly enjoyed each one.
Masterful work my friend, and huge congrats on another very well deserved FTOW.
Kirk
Hey Kirk, always good to hear from you, sir! As always, you are too generous with your compliments! Glad to hear that you found the images enjoyable. Your comment about lack of fear in the wildlife is exactly correct, and it cannot be understated. As long as we visitors remember how to behave in these special locations, future visitors will be able to enjoy the same experiences. Close encounters with wildlife, including having a peek into the nests with young being tended to opens up a whole new world that many of us have never seen before, and it is those types of moments that we wish to capture and remember.
