Outstanding set, Morris! Not only one of the primo birds, but really beautifully captured in some great poses. Your spot-on focusing (through all the grasses) and exposures are impressive as well.
I didn't see a single Snowy owl this winter. I'll do a little vicarious living through you...

Great shots, Morris. Wonderful light.
Thank you Rick,

Thank you Kim,
It was so nice to have the owl relaxed in front of me and exhibit the natural behaviour. My many years of photography before the invention of autofocus gave me the skills to pull focus my self.
This is on one of Long Island's South Shore beaches. PM me if you want a more detailed location.

Thanks! I'm up in Nova Scotia, Canada, so just a bit further north on the same coast. I didn't know they went so far south - maybe I'll have to hit the beaches around here and see if any are around before spring comes. Any particular tips for spotting them like what kinds of areas they prefer, or is it pretty much luck?

Incredible shots man! I've never successfully shot wildlife, I always take too long to get the shot perfect. Now you're making me want to try again.
Thank you Code,
The first thing to do is take a photo and then perfect it

Nice shots Morris, I have yet to see one this season. I hope there is still time.
Thank you Alden,
Migration has begun. I've seen them as late as March 8
