Jillian was an amazing sport for braving the cold temps and the winter storm that was rolling in this day for a maternity session! These were so much fun to do! A few notes - these are all taken with the 5D Mark IV and the 200mm F-2.0L lens, and all natural light. We were in near white out conditions in some of these as the snow was coming down pretty good. None of these are digital backgrounds - she really is standing where you see her in each image. Some of the images are panorama/Brenizer/image stitches (whatever you want to call it). I focused on her, shot her, then while leaving the focus in the same place, shot the surrounding background and stitched them in Photoshop.
These first 2 images in the road were pretty funny - we got the car stuck in a ditch and had to call my husband to come rescue us. While he was digging us out, we decided we might as well just use the road. No one was driving on it - we probably shouldn't have been either in retrospect. lol

Another stunning series. where did you get the crown? I'm going to do a Snow Queen shoot and I need a crown/tiara.
Thank you Ron! I actually have 2 similar crowns - this one I've had for years. I found it on Etsy, and then it was embellished after the fact with stuff from the craft store. I have another than was made by a friend - Honeydrops Designs. You can find her on Facebook. She is amazing and can make anything you dream up.
Every time I look at your photos I get stuck somewhere between "This is motivation to improve my work!" and "I'm so far from this level I should just get a Polaroid camera".
All are absolutely beautiful but i especially like #4 and #7! The composition and editing of those two is just amazing!
According to your blog she is due in a couple days. I guess at that point if you are going out to take maternity pictures in a blizzard it pays to take a photographer who has had 11 kids!
