Ill be in the minority and say #2. #1 pops at me more, but I enjoy looking at 2 better. It is more soothing and a better comp in my opinion. Something about #1 leaves me feeling uneasy.

Both great obviously....Very nice.
YES! I gotta jump into this great discussion w/ another affirmation of #2! And if one wants folks to linger on a printed image (as opposed to popping of an ad page in a magazine) my eye walks through #2 so naturally - from the back of the canyon slot, forward along the moving water, then over to the far bank of sand, then to the fissure and up the wall w it's colors on the far side of the canyon - a very pleasing progression (counterclockwise in this case) that is desirable and far from common. #1 "pops" as many have said, but unlike the smooth transition of #2, my eye jumps around from element to element in a less "soothing" way. Good food for thought. And great shots in a place that's not as easy to capture as people think!
Love the first one. Takes viewers eye from near to far....the vanishing point. Both, however are excellent. But first one will make a spectacular print on metal.
