Excellent cat-alogue of your 2016 big cats. The pumas from Chile are especially nice images.
Dave
Thanks Dave...it was a very special experience photographing predators on foot.

Nice to take a trip back to Chile and relive our encounters with the 3rd largest cat species on the planet. I appreciate what you said about your images; sentiments I myself have echoed after returning from many trips. It just makes you want to go back for more.
May your travels in 2017 be filled with predators in warm light and unencumbered settings, with friends and family at your side, and of course good health and while I'm at it, world peace; so we can get to the wild places we love in safety.
Later my friend.
Thanks Don, Chile was amazing not in small part to the company! I am hoping my first large predator of 2017 is in warm light but freezing cold conditions...after that, yes, world peace would be nice....chance are I'll see a pangolin way before that happens unfortunately.

^What Don said!
After reading your intro, I was thinking about an Emerson quote (journey/destination), but after seeing those images (especially #28), it seems to me that the destination(s) have been remarkably rewarding.
Happy new year, and please keep me in mind for the melanistic leopards!
Greg
Thanks Greg....I've become much more introspective as I've "matured". aka, gotten older, and tend to see all aspects of my life whether it be professionally or otherwise in a much different light than when I was younger. I am still hoping for that elusive melanistic leopard or jaguar....a dream that hopefully one day will become a reality.

Such a wonderful set Eric
The last one is my favorite!
He looks so tender and sweet and his eyes are gorgeous!
You captured him posing beautifully!
BB
Thanks BB....leopard cubs can be just so cute that you really feel you ought to pick one up and take it home....of course, the last person to do that they now call "Lefty"

I always enjoy your thoughtful and though provoking commentary Eric. To be counted as your friend is an honor.
This is truly a remarkable set. While the number may not be as you wished, they certainly do not disappoint.
When viewing these marvelous animals , I am reminded of Lord Byron-
"She walks in beauty , like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes ......."
Happy New Year Eric to you and yours. May you find what you seek .
Birdie
Thank you Birdie...I do love your vast knowledge and the quotes which are always spot on....I too count our friendship as very special and hope 2017 brings smiles and laughter....g-d knows we could use a large dose of both.

Eric,
A very happy 2017 to your family and you
it is people like you, everyone that you mentioned and others, on this forum, that make it so special. Your advise is priceless, genuine, timely and always given without any hesitation. It is my honor and priviledge to know you and shoot with you and others on the fourm.
As to the pics that you have posted, I would be proud of each and everyone of them, if they were mine.
My best to you, sir.
Thank you KD...I've never understood the secrecy and need for oneupmanship (not really a word I fear) that seems to permeate the world of wildlife photography. Almost none of us make our living from our photography and the joy we get from seeing and photographing special animals should be all the payment we need. But as a friend of mine often says, "Peoples are peoples". Yes, I do recognize we don't want hundreds or thousands of people disrupting sensitive or endangered animals but beyond that....well, I just don't get it.

Amazing and inspiring work; I'm a big fan of your cat shots Eric!
Seems 2016 was a great year. Also thanks for the advice you gave me somewhere halfway the year, that will hopefully give me a nice Zambia/Bots trip in 2017 myself this year.
Looking forward to your adventures in the coming year!
Thanks so much and I hope you come back with some amazing photos and of course, then, you share those images with us. I am sure you are already getting excited about your safari....I know I would be practice packing already
Eric
