GHO post shower. For anyone looking at this thread in comparison to the 800pf, the pf just doesn't have that 3d lifelike feel that the 800e seems to provide. (To me at least)

Have been shooting a lot the last few days with the 500pf and the 800pf on Z9.
Is anyone else using these two lenses side by side?
At MFD, they both have about the same field of view... The 800pf has the advantage of not requiring me to get as close to a subject, sure. But, if I can take 5 steps forward, the 500pf is sharper, faster autofocus, and f/5.6 vs f/6.3. Plus it's smaller and lighter.
I am still loving the 800pf, but I guess I had hoped it would be at least faster AF than the 500pf, and perhaps a higher IQ lens too.
I was planning on selling the 500pf when the 800pf arrived, but now I'm not so sure.
Anyone else with a similar experience?
EDIT: So I am an idiot and just now realized that this is not the 800pf thread... It is the 800E thread. Sorry all

FWIW I sold my 800pf a few weeks after I got it. It’s great having the reach in a lightweight package, but I was happier with my images from other Nikon bigs. 500pf is irreplaceable in my book, something about 500mm and 45mp that just works so very well.

Wow, didn't know you sold yours!
I'm not quite tempted to sell mine just yet (unless my 400TC/2.8 preorder comes in, then maybe lol).
I do find myself reaching for the 500pf more often when leaving the house. It's just sharper, lighter weight, smaller, and faster AF. Unless I know I'll be shooting at a significant distance from my subject, the 800pf isn't my first choice.
Going to test more this afternoon/evening with both the 500pf and 800pf on the Z9.
So far, my experiences moreso confirm just how amazing the 500pf is - this is not to take away from the 800pf at all, both are really nice lenses, particularly for the price. That 500pf is just a masterpiece...

Anyone use the naturescapes lens foot on their 800mm 5.6? The one that is flat? Or know of any other one that is low profile like that and fits on this lens?
