Brian, yes, I do. That area is about 10 minutes from my home. When I retired several years ago, the local wildlife was one of the reasons that we moved here. In addition to that area, if you go about another 15 minutes north, you get to the Skagit river delta (draining much of the North Cascade mountains). In the winter, there are often flocks of Wrangell Island snow geese (often in the thousands), trumpeter swans (often in the hundreds), and tundra swans. I will probably be posting some swan images in the next week or so. It is a beautiful (but wet and cloudy) area. Oh, and we are only about an hour north of Seattle!

Keith: Since you will be dealing with bad light for some time, you could do as I do and head to central Florida. February through April are great times for birds, the light will mostly be great, the wife can spend the day doing her thing while you are checking out the wetlands. That is where my D5 and 800 are headed Monday.

I shoot handheld with the Nikon 800mm coupled with a D500 on a daily basis. This pic was taken from a pontoon in Florida as it flew by our boat. 1/3200 F8 ISO 1250
