I would like to have the 1DX II AF in a crop.
They tried to do 1DX AF in the 7D2 and lots of people drank the Kool-Aid and thought it was as good probably the "shiny new toy" syndrome.
In the end they need room for the extra processes and if they had room they could do it but I don't think there is room and even if there was they likely won't do it.
Even when people say the D500 and D5 are the same, I've read from some sources that the D5 has extra processors but I haven't seen official confirmation on that.

Can't complain that they didn't use the search function though, right!
@junglialoh is the FM resident dead thread resurrector. Usually it's a lens review/images thread.
Amazingly the 5DIV is the #6 most rented camera of 2025 at Lens Rentals and 16th most rented item of the year. Nine years after its release.
In 2024 it was the 10th most rented item. I guess next year it will be out of the top 20?
And it's the #2 most popular Lens Rentals rental in the past 19 years (as of July 2025). Beaten by its prior incarnation, the 5DIII (which Lens Rentals still rents!).

Amazing indeed!! I loved my 5Diii and 5Div.
I am shooting R5/R5ii now but still have the 5Div.

I knew they rented lots of them a couple years back, rather amazing it is still the case!
Still ahead of all Sonys youd really consider stills bodies except the A7 IV!

If I had to return to DSLR I would select the 5D4, a camera that still would do much of what I´m doing photowise. Actually I would miss some RF tele lenses much(?) more than the RF bodies. I think.
