This set is a real treat, Geoff! I've never been and I'm not keen on standing shoulder-to-shoulder with other photogs but I can certainly see how this annual phenomena is a big draw. These are wonderfully done and really show off their behavior in a stellar way.

There were only 4 photographers there that weekend. In mid November that sometimes gets as high as 10. There is 2 miles of viewing area along the highway with about 4 car pullouts to park....standing by other photographers is not an issue in Haines. This ain't Lock and Dam

Thanks for the info, Geoff! You've totally changed my impression of the situation. Wow; what a fun time that would be! I've been invited by an acquaintance to L & D but it just seems like such a zoo it's not for me...
