What I mean by "unfortunate" is that I find it sad that we need to have our police force dressed in riot gear just to do routine surveillance.

Good foto. This summer my wife and I visited Firenze Italy, Paris France, and Brussels Belgium - and we felt safer seeing the level of security with armed police and military - but it is unfortunate that the world has become like this.
