The feather detail is just mind blowing but you captured not only perfect images
but fraught with emotion!

Robert, you are very kind and thank you so very much for your compliment. I am very flattered...

I like all of them, but it is hard to imagine a better portrait than the first one. I also like the guy cautiously peeping out of the burrow in the third one. You have inspired me to try to find some owls.

Lovely set! Last image is my favorite (killer image!) because of the composition, background elements, and side/back lighting.

Hi Joshua...

I thought I had some really nice burrowing owl photos in my little portfolio. Yours, however, just proved to me how far I've got to go.

All of them are spectacular, but the first one is wonderful for its detail.

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom, thank you very much. I am really flattered; you are very kind.

All beautiful shots. It is interesting how the pupil size varies a bit.

Hi Dave, thank you so much for your kind comment. You can contact your local Audubon group for the location of owl burrows locally. Have fun!

Thank you so much, Peter! Yes, it is and the pattern of the spots on their feather is very distinctive. I would venture to say that I would recognize the owl in the first picture based on the unique and darker spot above its left eye.

Stellar Set!

These guys are really cool, though they tend to be quite flea infested!
