Tired of images I posted from Costa Rica? I don't blame you . Well, here are a few of more local birds, of burrowing owls in Ontario, California to be exact.
No, they don't make that "Whoo, hooooooo" sound, as matter of fact, they didn't make any sound at all while I was there several weeks ago.
Some are definitely more skittish than others. The guy in the first image didn't budge when I approached him but I didn't want to get too close than this. I cropped out some obstructions in front of him and I did straighten the image a little. Some flew away at distances further away, while some dove in into the burrow.
Fabulous owl shots Joshua....they are so much fun to photograph and you got some really good ones. The detail in the first is quite impressive and I also think the third is a really good and fun shot!
