Thought I'd test out my Fuji XT2/56mm 1.2 with a model friend at Balboa Park... Told her to bring something fun... so of course she shows up with a St. Laurent gown and Chuck Taylor high tops!
Had some issues with my Rovelight 600 and high speed sync, had to stop down instead, good thing it was a test shoot!
Great shot. The tennies are a kick. Catching the fountain behind her is a nice touch.
If I had a complaint it would be that her face is maybe a hair dark relative to some things behind her. Or even her shoulder. So, let's call that a minor complaint.
If you are into editing things out of backgrounds, I would lose the chunk of red umbrella and the sign.
Your friend made a great choice. Really fun with the sneakers. Good pose, relaxed smile. The dress looks great. The background is too cluttered in my opinion with the tower cut off, signs, chain, cropped umbrella, etc. You may have been caught up in getting the fountain in the shot. I would just worry about your model and finding a background that will get out of her way. Keep posting!
Your model and her dress are outstanding. The ChuckT's are icing on the cake.
As noted previously, the background is busy, with a lot of detail which really detracts from the stunning subject. I would suggest that next time you use a wider aperture, maybe even wide open, on your lens f/1.2, being careful to focus accurately on the subject's face. This would likely make for a nicely blurred background.
The yellow chucks were definitely unexpected as I scrolled down! I love the way the sunlight streaming through the fountain streams frame her.
I would perhaps crop in on both sides just a tad so the part of the car by the fountain on the left and the umbrella and sign on the right could be excluded.
