Wow. How did you take that? What post processing? I want to try something like that.
It's a single exposure f/2.8, ISO 3200, 20 secs. Processed in Lightroom only. It was taken last Saturday night which was a new moon and it was on the Isle of Skye in Scotland where light pollution is minimal

Thanks. Do you think the Batis 25 could get close to this kind of shot?

In my excitement of finding such a dark sky I didn't even try. I took the above shot with the Batis 18, realised it was hard to focus due to focus by wire and swapped to my Samyang 24 without even trying the 25. I intend to test out the 25 at the new moon at the end of the month if I get a clear night. The 18 had minimal coma which is Good so hope the 25 is the same
It is interesting that you found the Baits 18 hard to focus in the Milky Way shot, because Zeiss, I l believe, specifically recmmends the 18mm for astrophotography. In what way did you find it difficult? I assume an infinity focus didn't work?

Wow - outstanding images, everyone! I am truly impressed. I need to use my Batis more now....but this image is still from earlier in the year.
Great shot, joshua. How did you make this image? It looks like you are standing in the middle of a road for a time exposure!

Thank you! Well, they blocked almost the entire right side of the street and I did setup my tripod right in the center alright but I didn't actually block the traffic. A few cars did honk but mostly they did it to be aware of cars being there and that I did pay attention to my surrounding. To my surprise the traffic was fairly light that evening.

Nice shot, but I think the sunstar and flare ruined it (which obviously weren't your fault)....

It can. I have light pollution near me but I made do one night this summer when it was decent out. I have limited view from my roof due to trees so I got what I got. Pardon the facebook quality. Batis 25mm + A7.
If anyone cares to see more Batis... well, Batis galore check out my most recent car meet shots you should be able to tell which shots are 85mm and which are 25mm:
It would be redundant for me as I have a 12mm Touit already but the 18mm Batis is definitely appealing for the additional light capturing ability. I am looking to go with the X1D though so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for what wide angles that brings as well before pulling the trigger.

Just FYI, I do have a Voigtlander 12mm Hyper-wide that I used in combination with the Batis 18mm and to me the transition from 18mm to 12mm being 6mm in FF term is just perfect.
