I really like the industrial machinery! I grew up in and around large mining and milling operations so I've always been drawn to the weird mechanical beauty of the machines that do the behind the scenes work that makes modern life possible.
To be honest, I sold 2 Zeiss Batis lenses in the last 2 years. My Batis 25 went first after Sony came up with the GM 24mm and more recently, my Batis 18mm after I purchased the Sigma 14-24mm DG DN. I only have 2 left now, my Batis 85mm and 135mm lenses. Those lenses are different enough in physical size to others that makes me still hang on to them.
Here is an image taken last year in the early days of Covid-19 in Italy. We didn’t know about it turning into a global pandemic back then...

Looking at the preceding 25 or so images, are the Batis colors and microcontrast like the Loxia colors and microcontrast, or is that my imagination?
How would those with experience of each characterize the similarities and differences between Batis and Zeiss image characteristics?
Of course, Batis lenses are Zeiss designs, just as Loxia lenses are Zeiss designs. But it is still an interesting question: a comparison of Loxia rendering vs Batis rendering. "Loxia" and "Batis" are both kinds of birds that Zeiss has chosen to name lens lines.
