Thanks for the comparison Jannik.
It once again showed me exactly what I was already talking about here. The CV has flatter rendering.
Look at the toy's head. In the Loxia shot it has more "volume". If you only compare the nose you notice quite a difference in rendering. The Loxia shot looks more "3D" to me.

It just goes to show how different perceptions can be. I see the bottom (the CV) as more "3D". I think "3D" qualities are among the most subjective.
I think the subject does not help and the differences are small. I thought the lower was the Loxia 85 because this lens has no cast bias compared to some of my C/Vs.
We need more samples Jannik. How about an outdoor comparison done in the same fashion?
Maybe some flowers in it to see color and contrast in a larger scene. This one was tough

To each his own but the CV is far from a low contrast lens and I bet that few people would be able to pick it out against a Loxia 50 if they have a dozen or so images. Even less so if images are processed.
Phillip,
I just read your entire review. Nicely done as always!
On bokeh rendering, I see you rated it above average.
Did you test it against the Loxia 50/2 at mid distances?
Since everyone loves a test, I did two quickies today. No flowers I am afraid as I was in a hurry. I used my jeep instead. No cheating by looking at the data:
First one I used three lenses: CV 65 (cropped), GM 85 and Loxia 85. Which is which? Only daylight light balance and identical sharpening. Loxia and CV wide open, GM is at F2.5:

If the first one is not the GM 85, I will retire.
On the second set, I would say the bottom is the Loxia 50.
This is easy.
On the first set I'd say the second one is the Loxia, GM is nr one and nr 3 is the CV
On the second set, I say Loxia is the first, then CV.
