Friends and I came upon this Barred Owl back in June. It turned out to be very cooperative. Preening and hunting, unsuccessfully, from its perch, it finally moved on. Thanks for looking.

Nice shots! Heard one in the woods behind my house a couple of weeks ago around 10:00 p.m. Looked for it with a flashlight for a good 20 minutes and then for another hour the following day. No luck, unfortunately, and haven't heard him since.

Thank you. I've shot a few in the yard (Not this one) Mostly, I just hear them like you.

Fabulous Rex....I find that barred owls are amongst the most difficult to get good images of probably due to their dark eyes and their propensity to really hunker down behind lots of branches.
