Thank you all very much for the comments!
Thank you Kane. Actually, you are totally wrong. There is no extreme shadow recovery or any extreme anything. Do you have any experience with CPL or GND filters? I used several filters to control the light and help bring out the autumn colours. I did some slight tweaking in post but this is my vision for this image.
Hi Scott, Your vision works well for you..and many, many others! Congrats. You are the artist and I have much respect for us Artists! You are correct, I do not have a lot of experience with grads and other fun filters (besides a polarizer, ) but I'm fairly certain I get the advantages and disadvantages. I prefer hand blending exposures and I thought this one was processed that way. For whatever reason I did not think the image was shot using soft grads, but now I get it. Like I said I do like the image.
Thank you Kane. I think CPL filters and falls colors go together so well. The way it makes colors pop something you replicate in post. I use it a lot this time of year. I usually try to get all I need in one shot. Not a fan of blending. Too time consuming but will do it if required. Here is was able to get it where I wanted filters.
