I listed my Sony 50mm 1.4. Im sick in the head. Seriously if you want one buy mine its tested and its perfect
It's a new record !!
did that girl last 5 weeks? you're like a high school QB w/ your lenses !
i was betting you were going to dump her right before Christmas....
Unlist that lens, Guy. You love it. You'll lose money by selling and buying back. Everyone needs a technically great 50! You'll find the bucks for the c-sonnar eventually!
Too late sold and bought a brand new Sonnar. I'm really not the biggest 50 guy to begin with. Lovely lovely lens no doubt about it but I bought this for people stuff. I have 50 covered with my 24-70 2.8 for work gigs . This Sonnar is for my fun work and art. Now I have a 5 lens travel kit to beat the band. Vc15,Loxia 21 and ZM 351.4,50 1.5 and my 85 F4 and it's a really small kit. If I need 24,28 and 50 for landscape I got that in the zoom. Honestly I would not done any of this ZM stuff without the use of the TAP that changed everything for me. I got real AF/MF combo in these ZM
Btw I changed my C keys C1 is magnify. C2 is AF/MF toggle that's works awesome. Than left dial is focus settings which I can toggle around to different AF than center dial punch locks it in. It's fast as heck like this. I know it all sounds crazy but I'm a Zeiss man at heart and I love real manual focus lenses and now I get AF with them
It does have a lot of character . I'm taking a risk but I bought new just in case I change my mind. The FE50 is always in stock. I have 2 big lenses, 3 was bugging me a little

I was going to post a poll, asking whether or not Guy should sell the Sony 50/1.4 GM. But when I checked, the lens had already gone (3 hours and 8 minutes after being listed).
I have all these lenses that I know I should sell but somehow I can't bring myself to pull the trigger. Might be time to engage Guy as a consultant!

well this is a tough one - i've even done something i swore i'd never do: give DigLLoyd more money !! but he does have a very extensive amount of commentary on the M-mount (both Leica and Zeiss lenses) and this whole TAP thing has me a bit more than curious !!
frankly, a ZM 35/1.4 (nearly perfect) and the C-Sonnar 50 (character w/ issues) would fit me quite well b/c 35 is more my lens cap and the ZM 50/1.5 could be fun.......
I guess it makes sense for you; if the GM zoom is as good as a prime stopped down that covers you for landscape and work. And wider aperture 50 stuff is mostly people which is where the c-sonnar excels and where you might use it ahead of the 1.4/50 anyway. And for people purposes the smallness of it is not only convenient, but also less intimidating.. GMPhotography wrote:

So Guy, you're rolling with the ZM 85 F4 on the long end, and Fred is using the Leica 90 2.5. Reasons you prefer the ZM (other than being a Zeiss man at heart)?
