I was using a 1 DX, 1D MK IV, 100-400 II and 800 lenses. Sometimes I took both bodies and lenses. Since it was rainy and overcast most of the time I used the 1 DX body only and both lenses for the high ISO capability those times.

Very nice...I'll have to do Halo Bay if I go back there next year, much different setting than most areas.

These are wonderful photos, with lots of character.

My father took a few photos in the late 30s' of a brief but very violent fight between a grizzly and a very large black bear. The encounter took place on a gravel bar on a river on the west coast of BC. Dad remembers the bears as unimaginably fast and powerful. The black bear managed to get away up a tree after probably no more than 15 to 20 seconds. Later they looked at the area where the brawl had take place and were were several small saplings just sheared off in the melee.
