I hope and pray that your daughter recovers to a normal healthy life. The first B&W photo is stunning and dramatic. Had your daughter looked straight ahead the lighting on her face would have been not as nice. I also like the shot of her sitting on the floor by the window. These types of shots remind me of the Dutch painter Vermeer (The Milkmaid) who excelled in these kinds of portrait ighting.
First and foremost Lisa, Prayers are in order for a successful surgery and continued speedy recovery to both the "little one" and the family.
After reading your "intro" into your post, I find the seriousness in the young lady's facial expressions complimentary to the images.
Another excellent representation of the "mind meld" you have between eye-camera-subject.

First off, sorry to hear about your baby, but relieved all is going well for your family. These images speak to the viewer on so many levels, spiritually, artistically and technically. Very well done. I really must put Bannack on my list.
Amazing set of photos. Always in awe with your photos. I hope your baby gets back in the pink of health soon; will say a prayer for your baby and your family.
A quick update on Sylvie for those wondering - she is doing AMAZING. I pulled her NG tube about 2 weeks ago and she's eating well and gaining weight. The one last medication she's on has been cut down to just once a day and should be eliminated all together soon, and her incision is healing beautifully.
