beast of a lens
I think it may have that "it" factor
toddlers don't stop moving, so not a good example of sharpness.
but never the less...

Excellent! Definitely has the look I was hoping for. Mine is waiting for me at my local shop, just got to get down there and pick it up.

Just for fun....you can actually fit the old 105 AI-S lens inside the new ones hood.

This last page has sold me the final 10%. Never thought I'd actually lose the 100MP

Edit: sorry last request I swear! An building or anything at infinity, as I use my Zeiss for mountain portraits at f/5.6 and it's perfectly sharp.

I owned the 100MP not too long ago. The original and the new Milvus. For me, this is a much better lens in many ways.

1. Autofocus. I always worried about getting things in focus with the Zeiss
2. CA drove me nuts sometimes on the zeiss, I haven't noticed at all on this lens yet.
3. Build quality.....I know you zeiss guys will disagree, but I have broken one lens over the past 9 years. Guess what it was.....the 100MP. It just tapped a door frame when hanging from my side and it was done for. I don't think any of my plasticky Nikons would have had an issue. Honestly I hated that metal body. I was always worried it would get scratched.
4. I basically only used my 100MP as a macro lens. Being F2 was too close to my 70-200's 2.8 which I never had to worry about getting focus with. And if I wanted that distance with shallow depth of field, the 85 1.4 is also a safe alternative.

Lightroom needs to add a profile for this beast.
Anyone have a guy there?

DUDE WOW! These are the shots I was looking for. You and Nathan have the best examples so far.

Those who say the 200/2 doesn't render images close to 105E, are wrong.

This lens is definitely a mini chubmeister! The background is spectacular!

F those corrections. I've stopped using them-sometimes/most times the imperfections add to the image.

Thanks Nathan, I appreciate your info.

I have similar thoughts as well, but definitely not surrounding the build quality. Regardless, I think I know my next step and it's thanks to the work of the community. Appreciated!

Exactly. I realized quickly that it was neutering my 58 shots.

Gracias Mate!

Welp, first shoot with this beast
I got many more keepers with this, than I expected.

Worth noting that I use LR6 EXCLUSIVELY. for ALL pp.
I don't have any purchased filters of any sort, plug-ins, or 3rd party modules.

I don't add sharpness.
I just mess with a couple sliders in LR and boom.

I have not done any af micro adjust testing yet.

Modes, today I was shooting A mode @ 1.4
utilizing auto iso, with base 64
minimum ss 125
auto2 w/b

In this image Abby is walking towards me, swiftly. I'm using 3D AF.

nothing special about this, but then I noticed pixie dust above her left hand. it's from the chalk that is on her hands! you can see the pez dispenser that she removed from my hot shoe.

Just a couple of head shots from the camera store today. Artificial lights. Window light for the fill. I don't have kids, so this is what I got at the store as I was waiting for the traffic to ease. Not as cool as Dj R, but ......
