I am using an open mind. However all images seem to lack contrast, microcontrast. They look more like an Instagram filter was applied to them. Just my opinion of course!

Thanks to those who have posted their initial images so quickly. The images look good, and to my eyes, the bokeh looks great.
If any of you has an 85/1.4G, it would also be interesting to compare the amount of longitudinal CA (magenta/green foreground/background bokeh fringing), and the amount of purple fringing at extreme highlights, at wider apertures between the 85G (which tends to struggle with these issues) and the 105E.

These are really nice. Almost only ones that show smooth bokeh at distance, like 58g. I guess other people have contrasty picture profiles and further destroy smooth bokeh by applying clarity or sharpening.

A TC will not work on this lens because the rear element is right there at the back. However since you mentioned third-party, I do not know what those look like. But I do know that my Nikon 1.4 TC will not fit on there at all.

Cheers - yeah, I saw a week or so ago that Nikon said it won't work with their TC's, but I was hoping one of the third party ones would. Guess we'll see.
