ha .. the reason I mentioned it, is that a few weeks ago, there was some debate about a photo posted by Alexander Ross,
which had a gate in the background and someone claimed that showed how bad the Nikon 105 is, etc.
It was in a different thread though.
I regret selling this lens. I think I might have to buy it back...
One day, maybe the 85mm F1.2 S will put up a fight against it? Until then, nothing can compete with the 105E.

In the past when using the 105mm, I have stuck to slower or still portraits, but with the Z9 it got an upgrade. I was able to confidently push the 105 at 1.4 in action with a high keeper rate even when the eye wasn't fully visible during transitions.
I feel like the Z9 is just special sauce on everything. It's like a car you love and all of sudden you spent real money on sport tires/wheels and it's the same beast but better in all its reactions.
The 2nd picture in my TOP 15 was taken handheld with my 105mm f/1.4E wide open during the past Christmas while balancing on top of a road side bench to avoid some obstructing structure.
This lens is usually always in my bag. It's my "reach" lens indoors for event work instead of my 70-200 since I do not like high iso on my Z9 so this makes up for that if I have the option. nks12345 wrote:
