Much thanks. I think one thing that isn't really noticeable in the end result using that technique (the walk-around-dark-room-and-open-flash technique) is how much time it takes. I was in my friend's garage on a hot, sticky afternoon and after 90 MINUTES of making FOUR photos (we took more than 30 but we only really tried four angles and setups) both of us were exhausted and tired.
Made me wish that I had made him pay for it since it made me want some real equpiment. (I did it as a first-time favor.)
Well, think about it this way. Would it make more sense to make a bad image in 9 minutes or a GREAT image in 90 minutes? When you look back on it, the end-product is what matters most. In this case, you have a great looking product that could easily be framed and sold as a simple art piece.
Again, it's the skill/brain behind the gear that matters most. In fact, if you were selling this as art, wouldn't it sound more interesting to say that each image took 30 mintues to produce and build value for a potential client? Or, would you think the value is high if you say "This image was created in 2 minutes, not hand over you money?" :-) You get the point.
Hi Phil
Just curious, what effects do you get out of those gobo?
I am working with products. Do you know any of websites that dedicate only product photography? I am newbie and really want to learn more from others.
Thanks
Kevin
Today the white painting is done, just one more time on tuesday.
On the white walls there will be a rail with darkcurtains to make the whole studio dark when needed.
Temporary changed the position of the papers to the new position, the new 10 holder will be in this or next week .
The holder for a bar are being made so we can clamp some curtains on it to make the studio dark.
Temperary solution until the new holder will be in.
Also the first part of the horizon less wall is done, we have to wait for the 10 holder to come in before we can continue to make it seamless, very nice for large groups or for example motorshoots .
The total wall is arround 6mtrs in width (white area).
