From my trip in June/July to Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar - though strictly speaking those from Myanmar are not from the mountainous Himalayan region but from the plains & lakes !
Nagarnot, Nepal. I was hiking up a small mountain when came across a tiny road-side store. The Nagarnot area was badly hit by the massive earthquake that devastated large areas of the country (inc. Everest base camp) last year.
This family were now getting by with this tiny store and by making their home available for backpackers wanting a home-stay experience. They were lucky their home had survived, since in the mountains they are mostly made of mud without foundations the majority had fallen.
A Newari lady in the city of Bhaktapur, Nepal, permitted me to photograph her 'tribal' earrings. Bhaktapur was one of the worst hit cities during last year's earthquake.
Young Monk in Bagan, Myanmar.
Mother & Child @ Indein on Inle Lake, Myanmar
One of the unique Inle Lake fishermen, who row using only their legs.
A real character we met on a remote road high in the mountains of Bhutan, just going for a stroll he said !
