I tried this shot both with and without the wire and prefer this version. Thanks for looking and all c/c welcome. This abandoned house sits right off a main road.

Cathy,

I like this one better than your other image. Not sure about the barbed wire, but I love all the rest of the elements. I want to walk right over there and explore that building. Nice!

Oh, and I enjoyed your website. You've got a real nice portfolio of work there.

Edited to add that, you know, the more I look at this one, the more I like the barbed wire. It just works. I might have missed this element. Note to self - keep your eyes open!

Goodness. For such a simple shot there is great complexity in this frame. I think it's a terrific composition. That looming moon is just where it should be, to add thick atmosphere to this scene. The out-of-focus barbed wire adds mystery and perhaps a bit of dread against those black, vacant windows. This is an excellent entry, Cathy. A touch of Halloween! Bravo!

Thank you Andy, Ken and Carolina for your comments!

Andy, I tried cloning out the fence, but it seemed to take something away from the shot- the mystery and sense of forboding. Glad you have come to like it too. Also thanks for taking a look at my web page- need to update. Lots of old work that needs to be renovated with new.

Ken, thank you for your strong compliments. I enjoy taking pictures of this old house. I only wish I could get closer to explore, but it is all private property.
