Thanks Doug, GE and yes these could be a part of a larger body of work.
Thanks Ron, the first one I was down on the river walk in Chicago and saw this wonderful hat on the older woman but I just wasn't seeing anything when I was at her level We were walking in the same direction and I thought that if I could get her from above in side it might be something. I then saw the bridge ahead so I ran up the steps and hoped I could get there before she went under. I did, I waited and then hoped she would remain alone. She did I saw what I thought was an interesting shot quickly framed it and shot.
# 2 was just these two guys in theses white cowboy hats in Wicker Park at a street fair. I saw the hats and thought if I put them low in the frame, didn't show their faces and used that wonderful sky (Leica M Mono and red filter to really darken the sky) I might have something interesting.
I really go out blank with no preconceived ideas and look. I kinda get in a state where I am constantly looking for interesting things to happen. Not generally good company (LoL). Usually pre focused (DoF scales) and I have the exposure set just waiting for something I find interesting to happen.
