Yeah, the H glass is huge and heavy as it is designed to cover full frame 645. I can't imagine how unwieldy (Ok, I can as I have used MF lenses on my A7r before) it would be on a body near the size/ weight of this new Hasseelblad.

Never tried the HCD 24, but I used to have an HCD 28. It was a fantastic lens, but yeah, it was very large and heavy. It would be very unbalanced on this camera. It also had a 95mm filter thread, and filters that size are very expensive. I would not want to use that on this camera. I would definitely wait for native lens for size and price reduction. These lenses are very hard to resell because of the price, and they don't hold their value well. Back when I had an H system, I tried to sell it here and on getdpi with no bites. Ended up having to sell to rich people in China over ebay.

Now if you kept your Sony you could keep your very wide and long glass and use in conjunction for the time being. Lots of things you could do but I would wait for the 30 and buy all three at once. That way you got a system ready to go. Im keeping a eye on all this . Okay who's announcing next i don't want to wait for Photokinia .

Anybody here pre-ordering it? I came very close pressing the button but what puts me off is lens selection. I would mainly use it for landscapes and need wider lenses (even wider than the 30mm promised in September).
Whenever they release a 24mm (19mm full frame equiv.), I would re-consider it.
I don't think there will be a scarcity of inventory to the point where pre-ordering is absolutely necessary.
More importantly, at least when Sony came out with their A7 (also with only a couple of native lenses) - the whole adaptability of the platform made up for the lack of native lenses. Since that's not possible with the X1 platform, it probably makes more sense to see a roadmap, the 30mm lens, and go through one firmware update iteration (given the camera is so heavily dependent on electronics to operate with the touch screen).
Any of the first users of this platform will be like the people who get the first model year of a new car - helping the manufacturer iron out the details with very little value left over and a lot of frustration. Besides, it's a Photokina year, so who knows what everybody else has up their sleeves.

Apparently, the camera is already backordered for the rest of the year! Of course, we don't know how many units that consists of or how many Hasselblad will be making a month, etc.

Guess I called it. I knew it would sell like hot cakes. Now get on your dealers list dudes. Sony good time to jump on the train with something new. Lol

They also have a HCD 24mm lens version designed for digital 37x49mm formats. It costs 6K instead of $7,200 but you can find used ones for around 4K. Here is one:
Then you need to buy the adapter for this one...(probably another $500)
That would give you 18, 35 and 70mm full frame equiv. medium format landscapes for only 18K...Hey, that's around the same price as the Leica S body alone!

Hi Fred,
That used lens at B& H is only rated and 8+.
That says it all by the way that all of the cameras are spoken for till years end already. I will be interested in the reviews and the user reports.
For me, I am more interested in all likelyhood in the anticipated A9 and the A7rIII. My suspicion as I have mentioned earlier they will probably cut into the difference betwwn the new Hasselblad and the A7rII.
And with the new Sony cameras, presumimg my lenses can keep up with the presumed 70 to 80 MP camera I will have a complete set of lenses for a substantial amount less money that will offer me sbstantially greater abilities.

I was thinking about selling my 18-year-old's car for this. She can borrow my bike.
Now your thinking like me. How I make money throwing my 18 year old out of the house. Ill take his new VW GTI i bought him about 6 months ago. Think his student loan would cover this. ROTFLMAO
There are some real pluses here astro folks. This thing does 60 min to 1/2000 sec (depending on lens in use)..We can't do that with Sony. 60 minutes is HUGE I say

Tonight I'm having a serious talk with my wife...Do we really need this big house?
Seriously, B&H may send me one for review but I better refuse the package.
