The Ruby Throat season started early this year. The first hummer April 24.
May started off with a bang but it rained and rained and rained seemly every other day and most of the weekends. Not to help matters but May temperatures were more like April. Hummers are not very active (torpor) when it is cold. I sat for hours with only a few shots and a couple of times with none.
Mind blowing shots, Ted! The detail and poses are simply top class.
Like birdie, I am jealous too. There have been far too few ruby-throats at my feeder this year and I haven't been able to take even a single picture
Ted, why oh why do you always come up with these wonderful shots, thereby making the rest of us turn pure green with envy?! I thought # 5 was a favorite but then it was 6, then it was 7, then..... They are all such a joy to see. Thank you.
Very rewarding set UT. Lots of pinpoint detail and some very pleasing color and poses. For me opening up the darks a bit more would be nice in the neck throat area.
I'm a sucker for those poses like #8, oddly unique
#10 is simply outstanding
#11 steals the show for me! Simplicity and the right contrasts of color, that is one heck of an image
Super set of Hummerz my friend!
