Is there not a replacement part for when I want to remove the ridiculous tripod foot on the 40-150Pro? I looked at the Oly site but didn't see it
Catching up with some old postings and saw this. Don't know if you have had a reply, but if not have a look at this: DR-66

The two drawbacks for me with the Pany is that the focus-limiter does not work properly with the E-M1 Mk II, and Pro Capture will not work with it.
You are right on both issues....
However, I just leave the focus limiter on "Full" and the lens works just fine on my E-M1 II. The focusing is so fast through the entire zoom range with this PL100-400/ E-M1 II combo that I really have no use for the focus limiter anymore.
this is one of my favourite Owl shots this year, without access to the pro capture the EM-1mk2 + 100-400 doesn't do too bad catching the critical moment

Nice shot, but hardly representative of what the purpose is of pro capture mode.
This is pretty good MM. I have capped my Auto ISO at 3200. As long as you don't under-expose your image the noise is really not too bad and will clean up fairly easily in post.

ISO 3200 and denoised with NeatImage, a new program I'm playing with.
Olympus E-M1MarkII
LEICA DG 100-400/F4.0-6.3
ƒ/6.3 400.0 mm 1/800 3200 Flash (off, did not fire)

Does anybody plan to use the PL100-400 on the GH5 once it is available?
K-H.
K-H, I've no interest in Lumix now. I still have the GX8 if I ever long for the good old days but my feel on the GH-5 is video prowess and I've got several big cameras that can all do video I just don't go there--no innate interest in video. Shame is some ways. I rarely even watch movies.
Now if Oly brings out a zoom (200-500) I'll be looking!

Bobby I'm not lucky enough to enjoy that 3200 cap. If I did I wouldn't get to shoot here at home but a few measly days of the year. I'm going to shoot with 6400 tomorrow just to see how bad it is. I was really happy with 3200 and in the past I do that routine of creating a separate layer, denoising the image, then masking out revealing the un-denoised bird below. Didn't do that this time.

Olympus say that the purpose of pro capture is that "you get the exact moment you want to capture without any lag"
Whilst not in any way claiming that the panny 100-400 is in any way the equal to the 300 f4 with pro-capture + sync IS all I was pointing out, in a slightly tongue in cheek way, is that its quite possible to achieve "you get the exact moment you want to capture without any lag" using it (not so easy and you do have to time it right yourself of course, but for some of us its not fun if its too easy )
Please dont' take this comment wrong but that is one of the thing that bothers me a little about the micro 4/3 long solution. The pro 300 is extremely high resolution but somewhat questionable bokeh in too many cases (reminds me of the 50-200 4/3 lens). The 100-400 has much better bokeh but due to slow speed not extremely high resolution @ 400mm (woudl have been nice if was 1 stop faster but then it would be much more expensive and heavier). I've not seen the canon 100-400mk2 so can't comment on bokeh but rumour is that it has very good resolution and the fuji 100-400 while not super high resolution is a bit better than the panasonic. Then again 400mm (effective 800mm) is a nice feature of m4/3 solution.
there is no doubt that the EF 100-400 mk2 is the better lens but it is also heavier and more expensive and either needs a canon body or a metabones adapter for the EM-1 and mk2
As always, its down to compromise and for some of us, the Panasonic 100-400 is the best compromise for weight, cost and performance
There is never just one correct solution
Note also that its is less than 1 stop slower than the EF 100-400 mk2 being f6.3 vs f5.6 at 400mm
