Just got home to see that the E-M1 II, PL 100-400, and 12-100 were delivered. Battery charging now, but wow, all three together feel lighter than my 1DX ! Looking forward to learning the new system in the coming days.
A shot from today. Winter plumage Smith's Longspur. A little trick I found to be helpful in difficult AF situations(the billion grass blades) is to zoom in using the focus magnify feature as it allows you to pinpoint the focus.
Forgot the specs, 300f4 at 4.5 and ISO400, 1/200 sec.
Mitesh congratulations on Falklands images and your new gear.
My suggestion you need to add the Olympus 300/4 Pro and MC-14.
The Olympus 40-150/2.8 Pro is also worth considering as it takes the MC-14.
Good luck with your new setup!

Thanks for the great image.
Which button did you assign to the focus magnify feature? TIA

Beautiful little one! Awesome you got her singing!

Congratulations. Maybe you're like me now--looking at the heavy EOS kit and just wondering
Thanks a lot, Bobby! Let me tell you, this system would have been PERFECT for that trip. The 12-100/100-400 combo would have been wonderful to shoot. Next time .

Soon you'll sell that 800mm
I still have to try my MII. Waiting for some decent weather.
If it comes to that, John, I'd be quite happy. Lose weight and put money back in my pocket? Win! Hope the weather gets better for all of us under rainy and cloudy skies on the east coast.

Thank you, K-H! I have the 300 on order (thanks to Alex for helping me find a good deal). I'll keep your recommendation of the TC and 40-150 Pro in mind as I work my way into the Oly system .

Thanks, Robert. Not in any rush to get rid of the Canon stuff just yet, but it really is eye-opening, isn't it:

K-H.
The AEL/AFL button, but I think I will assign it to another button that is quicker to reach.
Someone on the forums here asked if the size of the AF box can be changed. If you zoom in and then turn the "rear control dial", you can change the size of the AF box. At ten times it can be hard to find your subject if you drift off it for a second. You can zoom out to 5x and as far in as 14x. The only issue I have with that is the AF box remembers your zoom level and will stay that size when you exit the zoomed view.
Looks to me like you do have a match made in heaven:
You with the 12-100 + 100-400.
Poof with her 12-40 + 40-150 + 300 + TC.
So where's the conflict?

12-100 + 100-400 = Dream kit!
My problem is I have the 40-150/2.8
Poof has the 12-40/2.8.
There has to be a happy ground between us.
My friends, everything can't be about birds... I have owned and played with the EM1 MkII for a few days now, trying different settings and features. My last µ4/3 camera didn't have any option to take Hi Resolution pictures. Interesting concept! A bit tedious but rewarding results and somewhat different, often in a good way, compared to what you get from high resolution FF sensors.
The M Zuiko 25/1.2 isn't the sharpest lens in the world for this subject but it worked fine when stopped down. Here is a 100% crop giving an idea about size and scaling:
There is no life without birds!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha, teasing
Great shot with the high-res mode Jonas, something I've yet to even decipher on the M1ii
I thought the menus sucked at first too but in a bit of time you'll realize the genius of Oly in giving you the malleable power to completely alter your world, and without alcohol or drugs They are not easy but they are seemingly infinite.
Without alcohol or drugs? I am not so sure about that. After pouring over the menu for about a half hour or so, I feel like I need alcohol to calm my rattled nerves and drugs for my massive headache. The Medicine Man needs to come and rescue me.

Haha Bobby! I could hook you up!
Hey, speaking of menus you know I'm learning a99ii menus at the same time. Sony has now given us color coded tabs=NICE. Olympus NEEDS to get these back ASAP!
p.s vodka works a charm and Poof and I are enjoying one as she processes and I study solar charge controllers for our camper build (which will be in Bosque next year by the way
Here is a selfie Poof took in a Stork's eye with the 300/4, about 150 percent crop-
