Sounds and looks to me like he is a pro photographer who knows how to take BIF shots.
Quote from Mirrorlessons: Extended second impressions:
"The results above are not perfect but there are different things that I still need to test. First I forgot to check if I was in speed or focus priority and my guess is the former because it is usually the default setting when the camera is new. Then I have to see how effective some settings like AF Scanner and C-AF Lock can be when dealing with fast-moving subjects. Long story short, the AF is very good but I believe I can get even more out of it with more time and experience."
It sounds to me that you reckon because he's a professional so he should've had it nailed first time up at bat. In the quote above Mathieu is saying fairly clearly he didn't have enough time to work out the best AF set up to get the best results. The review at imaging-resource on the E-M1 Mk2 BIF looks like the most methodical one so far and the conclusion is that the AF system is very capable.

Would be nice if they have lens profile support Olympus and Panasonic, but they don't. LR is significantly better now than it was a few years ago. You can merge your HDR images in 32-bit, and stitch panos with Auto Content Aware Fill. What is it about LR that you don't like?
I don't care for the modules, and general cluttered UI.

I am surprised. I love the UI and modules in LR!
Yep. Just a preferences thing. I still struggle onwards using Aperture on mac. I like the UI better, plus I have a zillion "versions" of images that would be a pain to recreate. Stupid Apple discontinuing it! Someday I'll move to a different program like LR. Sigh

I see that I posted this to wrong board. This is where I intended to put it. Please excuse my confusion.
Dave Etchells replies to comments questioning the choice of Olympus E-M1 ii as camera of the year. Since we have discussed the ability of this camera to sustain continuous autofocus, I thought that a quote would be interesting to the group:
"...And speaking of continuous AF, the E-M1 II really blew away our expectations there as well. We haven't published anything on it yet (stay tuned), but we've been running some AF tests intended to really challenge cameras, and we were genuinely impressed by how well the E-M1 II did. Its performance helped convince us that mirrorless cameras have truly caught up to DSLRs when it comes to AF performance...."

For anyone interested, Unique Photo has E-M1 MII in stock.
PS: I in no way affiliated to the shop
Yup and they're having a camera show this weekend with guest talks with a few Olympus affiliated shooters. I'm trying to find the time tomorrow to go and check it out. Hopefully my B&H order ships early next week. I would be tempted to just pickup from Unique, though the $140 in tax could go towards another lens purchase.

It could also buy you 2 extra batteries! B&H will be shipping their orders on Monday or Tuesday.

Me too! Got the surprise email from Phil this morning and it made my day.
Got mine yesterday at Bergen County Camera. All set up and ready to go. A few quick indoor shots show better autofocus in dim light, and less noise than the Mark i.

It's taking a lot for me to resist going to Bergen County Camera (never been) or Unique to just get one. If I wasn't so sure that B&H would ship mine early next week I'd just drop my kids off at grandma's and get it.
I'm planning on taking my kids to see the Macy's santa on Tuesday so unfortunately looks like I won't be getting it to take in with me.
