On FB EM1 II group, people keep posting nice pictures sometimes. But there also seem to be many problems with the camera being reported. Freezing is common, and other problems as well.
Worries me a bit.

I don't participate in the book of faces, so I haven't seen those comments. Neither of my 2 E-M1.2 cameras has frozen up or exhibited any type of unwanted behavior or error code. I couldn't resist testing out the weather sealing and did rinse them off under running water, with no ill effects .

When shooting video with E-M1.2 and E-M5.2 my fast Lexar memory cards got corrupted and became unusable.
I got in touch with [email protected], send my cards in, and got them back as REV B, free of charge.
No issues since.

No problems for me either. I am not even a member of inyourFB and have no intention of joining, and certainly NOT Tweeter.

Forget about the High Res mode. Here's a compact camera (what an under statement) that can deliver super-high-res FF image quality for less than the price of the E-M1.2 body only:

K-H and Bobby,

Yes, the hi-res mode does wonders for noise reduction. I should have mentioned that all in-camera NR was turned off. Here is another screenshot. This time, I resized the hi res image to the standard image dimensions and zoomed in to 3:1 for a close look at noise.

Note that I'm not advocating that we do this type of file manipulating and pixel-peeping as photographers in our everyday imaging. It's just nice to see that we do have tools at our disposal to counter some of the challenges a smaller sensor faces in certain situations.

I'll wait for your in-depth, hands-on review with sample wildlife images before I get too excited . Note that I said "wildlife", not "wild life". You SoCal people tend to confuse the two .

That is true! There is more wild life here than wildlife.

I just wanted to chime in to say that I received my E-M1 II base plate, and it makes the E-M1 II the most comfortable camera I've ever held. It address the fact that my pink just barely hangs off the bottom of the camera, and gives it a secure place to sit. The integrated arca-swiss mount is perfect.

I still think it's too expensive at $80 (the one for the E-M1 is only $65), but there are no alternatives out on the market yet.

The alternative is the Kirk plate but it's nowhere near as good as the RRS version:

Nice! It's as sharp as the 300 PRO ... or PL 100-400 in the hands of the Imagemaster.

So do White-crowned Sparrows, have eyelashes that is.

E-M1.2 + m4/3 to 4/3 Adapter MMF-3 + 1.4x Tele Converter EC-14 + big tuna 300/2.8 SHG @ 425 mm, ISO 500, f/5.6, 1/1000 s.

Frankly I am a bit surprised (blown away is more like it) by the high IQ and tremendous sharpness of this image - considering a 1.4x tele converter was used.
This behavior is reminiscent of using a Leica APO-Extender-R 1.4x on the APO-Telyt-R 280/4 lens.
I think my EC-14, that arrived today, is a keeper as well.

Looks like Sony is determined and destined to become the market leader and #1 brand in a couple of years:

Yeah, they just unleashed their beast mode. That is one incredibly spec'd camera. Looking forward to seeing the AF system in action.

EDIT: brief look at AF tracking at 0:53 mark:
