Another sweet shot from the Eastern Sierra. I could easily see this display in Galen Rowell's Gallery in Bishop.
Are you using some kind of glow technique? I really like how the lit up areas are lit up but not blown out.
Jim
Hey Jim,
Thanks for the comments. This was shot about 10 minutes from Mountain Light.
Processed with luminosity masks and a slight Orton effect. I've been shooting landscapes for many years but only recently begun to appreciate the effectiveness of warm backlighting.

I love the Eastern Sierra. I recently been there as well. Gret light in this image!
Nubcake,
Thanks for the comments. Glad to have the Eastern Sierra in my "backyard". Endless opportunities - no need to travel anywhere else
Dave,
Very neat image, the slight Orton works really well here it draws you in. I agree with Linda you can stare at this one for a while. Nice job here ! Regards,
Dean

Thanks, Dean. Appreciate your taking time to comment.
Wonderful image Dave. Reminds me of an Adamus shot I really liked. Processing is very nice too. Great job and thanks for the inspiration. I never seem to stop for these types of shots but often want to. This shot inspires me to keep a better eye as I am on the long drives... Have fun out there.

Mark,
Thanks very much for your comments.
btw, this was shot within a couple 100 yards of the Mark Adamus image you're referencing. I avoided placing my tripod legs in his tripod holes. Doubtful I would have even conceived this comp. without his original inspiration.
