ggreene: Glad you like 1 and its background. I was worried that the white (snow) background was distracting. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
inthewild: It was good luck. Hopefully my luck stays strong for the rest of the summer. Much appreciated. Scott
capnsteve19: Glad you like the captures. The hardest part of the pictures was finding them and then not drawing a crowd or rangers to chase me off. On the 2nd it was only 200' from a very busy parking lot with lots of people. I had to hide my lens when people went by or the crowds/rangers would chase me off for causing a traffic jam. Finally after 30 minutes the bear came out from behind the hill with the sun in the right direction. It was a great morning. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
nice series
glad you included the EXIF. Some reassurance there.
Best IQ, my pick is #3. But then you are getting a bit closer.
Be careful and thanks for sharing
Super shots Scott...I have never even seen a bear in the wild...the closest I've come was watching Yogi Berra play back in the 60s....when one comes anywhere near our town everyone hides their children and pets

sbeme: Thanks for your concerns. I am used to grizzlies and like to go as long as possible to avoid pressuring the animals and for my own safety. [However my success in predicting where they are going and going there - means I have to pay attention when I start zooming short. Good things grizzlies are mostly vegetarians]. Glad you like 3. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
JHerb: The Park keeps getting busier and busier over the last decade - soon it will be like Yellowstone with long line ups and traffic jams in the summer. It already is dangerous with naïve overseas people taking selfies with grizzlies. Thus earlier to visit is better. And June and September are better. Glad you like 2. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
psharvic: Glad you like 1. She is a good bear and was mostly interested in roots. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
eyelaser: Come visit and I will find you a bear. They really are exciting to see. Knowing that they are so dangerous but mostly just interested in eating roots makes them fun to see. Glad you like the shots. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
AvianScott: Glad you like 3,4. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
ScottHM: BC is nice but Alberta is better Send me a text if you come and I will let you know what I know re animals, as you get closer. Glad you like them. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Great shots. That first one looks like the one I was trying to find last year!

Yes - same bear - different season. Good eye. She was in the same spot as August last year. Glad you like the shots. I went back again and found her again with Dan too, near the same spot. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Banff has lots of grizzlies around now. I have seen 3 on the ice fields parkway in the last week between Lake Louise and Bow Lake. There is one on bow valley parkway between Castle Junction and Lake Louise. There was one hanging out near Vermillion lake last week.
Jasper is great for grizzly bear this time of year. I have had good luck just south of the park toll gate on the ice fields parkway early and late. Malign Lake road is also usually quite good. There is a road that parallels the ice field parkway from the park toll gate to Athabaska falls - i have had good luck on that stretch with black bears. I have found grizzly near the top of Edith Cavel and black bear on the road in June. In short - bears are plentiful in Jasper if you know where to look and are lucky.
