all with the 70-200 fl

My copies, of the pf500 is sharper than the 70-200 fl, or maybe Iam having to crop more with the 70-200 fl or I have to fine tune the 70-200 fl with the d500

1st photo with some iso noise. It was early morning.

Well...my friend, a time trial fanatic and a specialist, decided to do the one hour race record in our local velodrome. Basically, is one of the tradition in the cycling world that riders, pros in the past as well as in the present, can see if they can set a record in the longest distance they can time trial in one hour...usually is done in an indoor velodrome...My friend isn't a pro but something he wanted to do since they aren't any official race events going because of the pandemic...that's what I have been shooting this season...unofficial race events... He was doing it to raise money in honoring one of our local race officials (passed away more than a year ago) and happened to be a veteran...

He did 97 laps (aimed at 100 though), 38.8km, in one hour. You can do the math about his average speed...

The most difficult shot to pull it off...shot with a Sigma 17-70 at 17mm...off camera strobe at 1/1000s... Barely could free his action...If I were shooting him any closer, my head would have been ran over by his front wheel...

Thirsty - While there was a nice pond that most of the cattle were drinking at this fellow decided that a pivot irrigation system would make a very nice drinking fountain.

That Sigma is very sharp at F7.1, which is just 1/3 of stop from wide open at long end, I would say...great images!

Somewhat less than ideal shooting conditions yesterday, but the D500 AF was able to look through walls of water (single point mode, I never shoot group, although in the rain that has been a problem at times when the system felt I wanted a particular rain drop in focus)

Sketchy conditions

A different kind of day

Very nice, Lance - right down to the blood on the beak, not to mention the direct eye contact.
