Magnificent images! Could you speak to the shooting conditions/post processing you did to these?

The lighting is exquisite on your first but I'm really loving your second image. The shadows made it for me.

These are fantastic shots. I would clone out (or desaturate) the green glare on the foreground bush in #1.

Hi Jim,

The light in #1 is really excellent. The proximity of the near short lit up tree on the right to the proper big tree is a bit distracting though. The moon placement behind the tree in #2 works really well too.

Both are wonderful images. I would remove the the green flares on the upper right and lower left of the first image. I really like the large shadows being cast on #2 as well.

SUPER SHOTS! Congratulations on these!

My only nit would be to clone out the lens flares in #1.

What wonder atmosphere! Congrats again!

Love the first one. I was in Death Valley recently and don't remember seeing Joshua trees where I visited. Need to get back out there. Beautiful place, that.

Hi Jim,

A very nice mood in #1, just clone out the several lens flares in it. #2 is cool, with how you worked the moon. With the moon so bright, and yet there are some pretty bright stars this would seem to be a combination of 2 different exposures?

Thanks Jim for your comments. As to your question, yes and no. Two exposures as a pano with a 14mm lens. Image was cropped and then adjusted in Lightroom twice, once for the sky and once for the landscape portion. The sky had adjustments for contrast, hue, brightness, etc., but there wasn't a blend of a shot with stars and one with the moon.....if that makes sense.

Jim,
Great set, but have to say that #2 is the favorite here. Seems more balanced & the silhouette & shadows is just right

Thanks for posting

Love them both. What is that slight red cast in the shadows of the trees in the second shot?
