My wife (fashion designer) inherited a box of fabric that came from the Scoiete de Textiles Robert Perrier, a Paris couturier that closed in 1967. The collection includes samples of fabric from 1878 to 1967 and has quite the story behind the trends and history it saw. My take on this week's theme is a shot of one of those samples of fabric. Thanks for looking, good luck everyone,
Great image that causes you to linger until you figure it out. Wish that the FG was focus stacked or the focus point was placed so that the OOF was front to back. While the OOF in the BG contributes to the sense of depth, the one in the FG is like a wall that your gaze crashes into as soon as you look.
Did you try any other compositions? Focusing a little nearer the viewer (but still one the fold’s spine) could look very nice. I really like the amount of light you used to flood the image with golden awesomeness.
